Summer School of Excellence
Soccer Camp

June 16-20, 2008

The Summer School of Excellence Soccer Camp is designed for boys and girls, ages 4 through 14.  Players will learn individual skills through fun game-related exercises and small-sided games under the guidance of our trained professional staff.

A typical day will see your son or daughter play 4v4 small-sided soccer (the foundation for the Dutch system of youth soccer development), participate in theme-of-the-day exercises and games (ball manipulations, attacking moves, etc.), and compete in our daily 2v2 and 3v3 “street soccer” tournament.

Far Post takes great care to assure that your son or daughter is training in an appropriate group within the camp. An older, “specialized” group will be formed, to meet the needs of more experienced players, including club-level players (Far Post or other). This group will focus on slightly more advanced skills, including passing/receiving, 1v1 attacking moves, and finishing.

First Touch Camp

August 11-15, 2008

Far Post’s First Touch Camp is held the week before most Elementary and Middle schools begin.  The curriculum is specially designed to prepare your son or daughter for their ‘first touch of the season,’ i.e., Middle School or Club level tryouts.

  • If your son or daughter is trying out for the Middle School team for the first time, the First Touch Camp offers confidence, fitness and technique boosting exercises to prepare them for this new experience.

  • If your son or daughter is considering trying out for Far Post for the first time, the First Touch Camp is an excellent opportunity to be “seen” by the club prior to tryouts.

  • If you’re a club player looking to make one of the Far Post Travel Teams, the First Touch Camp will send you into tryouts with confidence, a good touch, and a competitive edge.

Who Can Enroll?  The First Touch Camp is for players aged 6-14, grouped at the camp according to age/ability to ensure appropriate competition and training expectations.
