Soccer Fun for Ages 8-10!

 Far Post offers specialized training for the 8 to 10 year old soccer player through our popular U10 Fall Development Program and our U10 Schools of Excellence.

 The U10 Fall Development Program is a six-week soccer program geared towards the 8-10 year old soccer player who can benefit from competent instruction and fun, challenging team play.  The program is held outdoors and is designed to maximize a player’s time spent on the ball.  Boys and girls enrolled in the Fall Development Program meet twice a week. 

• The Tuesday night session focuses on individual development and skill-building.

• The Thursday night session enables the player to implement his/her new skills in three 'mini-matches.'  The benefits of the mini-matches - or small-sided games - are that all players are more engaged in play and get more touches on the ball.  This helps develop players awareness and skill. 

 When your son or daughter enrolls in the Fall Development Program he or she can expect to receive a Far Post Education t-shirt.  They will also be assigned to a 'team' and given a name of one of the top teams in each of the premier leagues in Europe. This is the team that he/she will play with for the Thursday night mini-matches.  He/she can expect to train on Tuesdays with all the other players enrolled.

 During the indoor season, the U10 Schools of Excellence (U10 SOE) provide more specialized training on various soccer techniques.  Participants meet once per week for six (or five in SOE II) weeks.  Three Schools of Excellence Sessions are planned for the 2007-2008 season.  Click on the link below for more details.

 Dates, Times, Locations

Cost:

• U10 Fall Development Program ~ $175 per player

• U10 Schools of Excellence ~ $130 per player

• Fee includes a program t-shirt and a soccer ball.

What to Bring:

• U10 Fall Development Program ~ Soccer cleats or turf shoes are preferred but players may wear indoor soccer shoes or sneakers
• U10 Schools of Excellence ~ Must wear indoor soccer shoes (no cleats), may wear turf shoes or sneakers.
• Both programs ~ Wear shin guards with soccer socks pulled up and over the shin guards and bring water.

Registration Deadline:

• One week prior to the first day of each session.  Application and payment MUST be received in the Far Post Soccer Club office by this date to guarantee registration.  Acceptance is on a first come, first served basis until session is full.  No refunds after this date.
