New Mission Statement

The board of directors and management staff have recently been working on strategic planning for Far Post’s future. The preparatory exercises for these sessions included an examination of and lengthy discussion regarding the club’s mission. Strengths and weaknesses as well as challenges and opportunities were also discussed. The result was a list of objectives which will be incorporated into a long range plan. Although this process is still ongoing, we are pleased to present the following which capsulizes our prime reason for existence:

Our Mission Statement

We are a premier club committed to players with a passion for soccer, pledging ourselves to the development of individuals and teams striving to improve and succeed at all levels of the game.

Several key objective areas that the board and staff will be working on include:

  • Improved communication in all aspects of the Club
  • Development of clearer policies in a variety of areas and related communication to travel team families
  • Continued improvement in the quality of the Far Post soccer experience

Although this is just the beginning, the above demonstrates our strong commitment to the future of Far Post.

Success in Soccer

Success in Soccer is the name for our upcoming Summer Camp, scheduled for June 24-28. The camp is already filled to capacity and the Far Post staff is looking forward to creating an exciting experience for the young campers.

Success in Soccer also describes recent tournament participation.

Over the Memorial Day Weekend, the U10 Boys and Girls teams participated in the Medway (Mass.) Cup Tournament. The girls went undefeated. The boys team was divided into two squads, one of which was undefeated and the other won three of four games!

Also on Memorial Day weekend, at the Needham (Mass.) Invitational Tourney, the U15 Girls and U16 Boys advanced to their respective semi-final matches and the U12 Boys were runners up in the finals!

The following weekend, several Far Post teams played in the State Snickers Cup Finals. The U12 Boys, U15 Boys and U14 Girls won their championships games! The boys teams are Far Post’s first two male teams to advance to the Regional games while the girls are Far Post’s second girls team to travel to Fort Niagara from June 28-July 2. An honorable mention goes to the U13 Boys, U13 Girls and U15 Girls — all runners-up in their age brackets.

Go Orange! Congratulations to all!

World Cup 2002

The World Cup happens only once every four years. Every aspiring player should be watching these games as they represent soccer played at its highest level.

To foster enthusiasm for the World Cup games as well as build club camaraderie, Far Post, in conjunction with St. Michael’s College is offering special viewings of several games. The first viewing has already been held — a large group of Far Posters of all ages watched Team USA defeat Portugal, 3-2 last week!
