Travel Team Payments Due

The final payment for Far Post travel teams is due Friday, January 14th.  The following payment options are now available:

NEW!  Pay online!  Simply click here and pay your balance with your VISA/MasterCard debit/credit card through our secure PayPal program.

 

  • Checks, payable to Far Post Soccer Club, Inc. can be mailed to:  Far Post Soccer Club, P.O. Box 2016, South Burlington, VT 05407-2016.
  • Drop off payment at club office: 115 Wellness Drive, Williston.
  • Pay by debit/credit card in person at the Far Post Office OR by phone by calling the Far Post Office (863-8161).  Please do NOT send credit card information in the mail.

Winter Break Camp

Although we’ve just gotten back from the Holiday break, February vacation will be here before we know it!  There’s no better place to send your 7-12 year olds during school vacation than to Far Post’s Winter Break Camp for a week of soccer!  The Winter Break Camp meets from 9:00 a.m. to noon, February 21-25 at the Sports and Fitness Edge of Williston.  Cost is $135 per player and both boys and girls are welcome.  The program emphasizes development of sound soccer fundamentals through player instruction and evaluation.  Each day’s activities include “skill of the day” practice, fun and related games and match time.  To register please contact Ben Hardy at ben@farpostsoccerclub.com or call 863-8161.

 

Travel Teams Celebrate Success!

The New Year is a great time to highlight and celebrate the past year’s activities.  Last season’s 19 travel teams had many shining moments and much to be proud of.  Tournament play saw 4 championships and 12 runners up; four teams won their State Cup matches and five teams were runners up.

Tournament Highlights 2003-2004 Season   

Needham Invitational Tournament

 Champions:

  • The U16 Girls beat Seacoast United in the U16 Premier Division, 1-0.
  • The U12 Boys beat Galway in the U12 Boys Premier Division, 3-0.
  Runners Up:  U13 Boys, U13-14 Boys and U15 Boys
  Honorable Mention:  U12 Girls made it to the semi-finals. 

 Coastal Maine Tournament

 Seven “Runner Up” Teams:

  • U11-12 Boys
  • U12 Boys
  • U12 Girls
  • U13 Girls
  • U14 Girls
  • U15 Boys
  • U16 Boys

 The Empire Cup

 The U17 Boys and Girls traveled to Rochester , NY over Fathers Day weekend to participate for the first time in the Rochester Junior Rhinos College Showcase Tournament – Empire Cup. 

  • The U17 Boys came away with the championship without giving up a single goal the entire tournament.
  • The U17 Girls went 1-1-1.

  Clifton Park

Champions:

The U13 Boys played with 11 players the entire tournament and won every game.  In their final match, they went into overtime against Clifton Park Premier, and won on a golden goal scored by Robbie Cole!

 

   Runners Up:

  • The U14 Boys played Greece Eclipse in the finals, and lost 0-1.  Of note was that they only gave up two goals in seven games.
  • The U17 Girls were beat by a spirited Clifton Park Premier team in the finals, 0-3.

 

State Cup/Regional Tournament

 Far Post teams had their most successful State Cup ever taking home four State Cup Championships and five runners up. 

 2004 State Cup Champions

  • The U16 Girls beating Essex United, 3-0.
  • The U12 Boys beating Nordic U12 Premier, 5-2.
  • The U14 Boys beating Nordic U14 Premier, 1-0
  • The U17 Boys beating Nordic U17 Premier, coming back from two goals down to win on penalty kicks, 2-2 (PK 4-2).
 Runners Up:   U14 Girls, U15 Girls, U17 Girls, U13 Boys and U15 Boys. 
 Honorable Mention:   The U12 Girls and U16 Boys lost in the semi-final matches.

 Regional Tournament:

 The four 2004 State Cup Champions participated in the Region I Tournament in Rhode Island last July.  Of note was the U12 Boys win over Maine Coast United, 6-0 and the U16 Girls winning the Kohl’s Fair Play Award.

 

Travel Team Players ~ High School Soccer Accolades

Far Post congratulates the following players on their success at their respective high schools this past Fall season:  16 Far Posters were selected to the Vermont Soccer Coaches Association All-State Teams, 1 All-New England, 1 All-American and 5 Boys to the Lions Cup Twinstate Match.

Olympic Development Program (ODP)

Far Post was represented by 15 girls and 16 boys in the Olympic Development Program this past season.  Libby Merritt (U14G) and Tyler Macnee (U16B) were selected to the Regional Pool in their respective age groups, and Teddy Vallee (U14B) was selected to the National Pool.
