Five Far Posters Chosen for Regional Pool

 The following Far Post players were fortunate enough to be selected to the US Youth Soccer Region I Olympic Development Program Player Pool:

1992
  • Ethan Harlow (U13 Boys)
  • Andrew Mercier (U13 Boys)
1991
  • Teddy Vallee (U14 Boys) * Note:  Teddy was selected to the National Pool last year.
  • Libby Merritt (U14 Girls) * Note:  Libby was selected to the Regional Pool last year.
1990
  • Tyler Macnee (U16 Boys) * Note:  Tyler was selected to the Regional Pool last year.

 Only two other players from Vermont were selected to this elite training group from those attending the July 2005 Region I Identification (training) Camp.  Region I encompasses Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.  “Our Far Post players are very fortunate to experience this opportunity,” noted Executive Director Todd Kingsbury.  “We are very proud of them!”

VASL All-Stars Shine!

 The Vermont Amateur Soccer League All-Star team played a brilliant match against the Vermont Voltage, on the balmy evening of July 20.  The 1-1 game provided an excellent exhibition of soccer for ‘Far Post night at the Voltage.’  Many young (and older) Far Posters were present, clad in orange, to cheer on their favorite All-Star player.  And the half-time highlight?  Our Far Post youth team exhibited their skills beautifully in a round robin scrimmage against the Holy Cross Campers and the Windridge Campers.

 Congratulations to Kyle Dezotell on his goal for the All-Stars and to the following on their selection to the team for 2005:

Far Post Ladies Power Twin-State Team to Victory

 The Vermont girls team ran past New Hampshire 6-3 in the Annual Lions Twin-State Soccer Cup at Rivier College on July 16.  The first goal was off an assist by Ashley Pfaff (Rice), the second off a corner kick by Erin Pichiotino (Burlington), the third scored by Kaitlin Francis (CVU) who also scored the game-winning PK!  Erin Pichiotino tallied three assists and was named the Most Valuable Player for the Vermont GirlsTeam.  

 Congratulations to Ashley, Erin and Kaitlin as well as Kelly Sisco (CVU) and Olivia Tarricone (South Burlington and former Far Post player) for their selection to the team and to Coaches Brad Parker (FP U15 Boys) and Kevin Francis (FP U17/18 Girls)!

 Far Post was also well represented on the boys team with Alex Clavelle and Jake McFadden from Colchester, John Dellipriscoli and Brendan Lacaillade of Montpelier and Chris Sappo of Essex Junction. The Vermont boys played a hard fought game but New Hampshire rallied 2-0.  Jake McFadden was named the Most Valuable Player for the Vermont Boys Team.  

 Congratulations to Alex, Jake, John, Brendan and Chris on their selection to the team.

U18 Boys Close Out Season

 The Far Post U18 Boys, coached by Kyle Dezotell, assisted by Simon Perkins, brought the 2004-2005 Travel Team season to an official close at Clifton Park on July 9 and 10.  The U18 Boys, won 4 of 6 games, including the quarter final and semi-final matches on penalty kicks due to outstanding saves made by Goal Keeper Andrew LaneThe boys finished their Far Post careers bringing home the Runner Up Trophy!
