Club Policies Important in Outdoor Season

As we continue our hectic outdoor season and its related travel, we want to make sure all parents and players keep the Club's travel team policies in mind. They can be viewed at http://www.farpostsoccerclub.com/travel_teams/tryouts/ParentPlayer%20Manual%20Player%20Acceptance.htm  Every Far Post player and family annually agrees to adhere to these policies as a condition of their travel team appointment.

In particular, Far Post parents and players should know that we maintain a zero tolerance policy regarding the use of alcohol or illegal substances by any player. Our zero tolerance policy exists to help safeguard all of our players and to insure a positive experience for everyone. Please remind your team player that whenever they are taking part in a Far Post related event they are representatives of our Club, and always need to present the Club in a "professional" and friendly manner, which they easily do by adhering to the travel team policies to which they've already agreed.

Thanks to everyone for helping us maintain the favorable image Far Post has earned in our soccer community.

Tournament Season Checklist!

Memorial Day weekend will kick off the tournament season with the U10 teams traveling to Wellesley, Massachusetts, the U16 Girls to the Dartmouth Cup (NH) and the remaining teams, U11 through U17, will head to Needham.

All families are encouraged to monitor their emails daily as team managers continue to provide information for the upcoming events.  Here’s just a bit of advice to help you enjoy this exciting part of the Far Post outdoor season:

Please know that schedules can change up to the last minute so be prepared to ‘go with the flow.’

If you have multiple children in the club, connect with other parents now for possible assistance in getting your son or daughter to the game fields so you can enjoy a sibling’s match.

Plan ahead ~ whether it’s league play, tournament play, State Cup or Regional matches, plan for traffic jams, parking shortages, getting lost, a quick stop at a store for Gatorade, etc.

Pay attention to the correspondence from your manager or coach with regards to player arrival times.  Most Far Post coaches request that players arrive 45 minutes to 1 hour prior to game time.  Players need their warm-up time to physically and mentally prepare for their match.

Make a check list for your son or daughter BEFORE you leave home.  Include the following items and double check their gear bags.  Players must be prepared to wear either color game jerseys or socks and should be prepared for all kinds of weather.  Make sure they have any required extra items like ankle/knee braces, tape, and a water bottle.

Summer Programs Prepare for Fall!

School will be out before you know it and your son or daughter will be searching for things to do.  Far Post has a variety of exciting soccer programs planned for this summer.

New this year, for middle schoolers, is our “First Touch” camp!  This new camp prepares players for Fall tryouts so they can make their “first touch” on the ball with confidence.  After several weeks of soccer ‘down time’, players will need to get back in shape, retune their skills and mental focus.  Far Post’s Pre-Season Camp is very popular with the high school age group.  We’re pleased to offer our new First Touch Camp for the middle school players.

Families are encouraged to register early as we’ve already had great response for our summer offerings!

For more information, visit our Education page and see "Summer Programs," or contact Ben Hardy, Education Director at ben@farpostsoccerclub.com.
