August Camps a Hit! Far Post's 'end-of-season' camps have been extremely well-received, with record numbers of players in attendance!  67 soccer athletes attended last week's Pre-Season Camp (photo above) which was designed especially to prepare high schoolers for their fall tryouts and upcoming high school season.  This week, our new First Touch Camp made its debut to 56 boys and girls, ages 6 1/2 to 13.  This specialized program provides the younger aged player with their own pre-season type experience, preparing them for their first experience with middle school or club tryouts. Second Session of Tryouts This Sunday! The second session of tryouts for U14 through U18 aged players (boys and girls) will be held on Sunday, August 20 at Dorset Park.  See schedule below.  Players are welcome even if they missed the first session last Sunday.  Simply arrive about 15-20 minutes early to register! Sunday, August 13 and Sunday, August 20 Location:  Dorset Park, South Burlington  8:00 - 9:30 a.m. – U14 Boys 9:30-11:00 a.m. – U14 Girls U14 – Born between August 1, 1992 and July 31, 1993  11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. – U15 Boys 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. – U15 Girls U15 – Born between August 1, 1991 and July 31, 1992  2:30 - 3:30 p.m. – U16 Boys 3:30- 4:30 p.m. – U16 Girls U16 – Born between August 1, 1990 and July 31, 1991 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. – U17 Boys and U18 Boys 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. – U17 Girls and U18 Girls U17 – Born between August 1, 1989 and July 31, 1990 U18 – Born between August 1, 1988 and July 31, 1989 U10 through U13 tryouts are scheduled for September 10 and 17.  Click here for full schedule. Return to top of page Tryouts 2006 FAQ's  Where?  All tryouts will take place at Dorset Park in South Burlington.  Is there a fee?  There is no registration fee to tryout.  All are welcome! When should players arrive?  Please plan to arrive 20-30 minutes prior to scheduled time for your age group to register and warm-up. Click here for detailed schedule! How do we register?  A simple registration form will be available for completion at tryouts check-in.  All Far Post players from this past season will automatically be pre-registered. Does a parent need to attend?  Parents of new players and returning Far Post players are requested to check in with their son or daughter on the first day and sign the registration form. Do players need to attend both sessions?  It’s recommended that players attend both sessions if possible to maximize their tryout experience.  What should we do if a player can’t attend both sessions?  Please inform our personnel at check-in so it can be recorded on the player's registration form.  Are there any other opportunities for players to be seen if they can’t attend tryout sessions?  Yes!  Far Post is offering two August camps just before school begins.  See the next article! What should we bring?  Players should be accompanied by a parent/guardian for check in on the first session.  Players should be dressed in soccer attire, ready to play (cleats, shin-guards, etc.) and should bring their water bottles! Can I bring a friend?  Feel free to bring someone new along to see what Far Post is all about! How & when will players be notified of tryout results?  Players will be notified BY E-MAIL (unless otherwise noted on the registration form) within a week following the second tryout session.
