Fall Education Programs Focus on Ages 4 thru 12!

Far Post’s Fall Education line-up includes our ever popular Far Post Juniors and Fall Development Program.  Both programs begin on September 12 and will be held at the Tree Farm Facility in Essex Junction.  With school beginning, registrations are expected to come in quickly – so don’t delay!  Register right away!

Far Post Juniors is a fun-packed soccer program designed especially for the youngest players ages 4 to 6.  The primary goal of the program is for the participating children to have fun!  Our secondary goal is for the children to be introduced to the world’s most popular team sport, soccer!  Players may attend once per week (Tuesdays OR Thursdays) OR twice per week (attending both Tuesdays AND Thursdays)Click here for more details and to register!

The Fall Development Program is one of Far Post’s most popular soccer educational events.  Fall Development Program is a six-week soccer program geared towards the 7-12 year old soccer player who can benefit from competent instruction and fun, challenging team play.  Boys and girls enrolled in the Fall Development Program meet twice a week.  The Tuesday night session focuses on individual development and skill-building. The Thursday night session enables the player to implement his/her new skills via match play.  U10s meet from 5-6 p.m. and U12s meet from 6-7 p.m.  We’ve extended our early bird registration price of $150 (vs $175) to September 3 for those that might have been away and missed prior announcements of this programClick here for more details and to register!  The Fall Development Program is a great "next step" for those players 'growing out of' Far Post Juniors!

Travel Teams Update

Tryout Results ~ U14 through U18 Players

The response deadline for players who’ve receive acceptance notifications for the upcoming season is Friday, September 8.  To guarantee your rostered position, we must receive:

  • Acceptance of the Parent-Player Manual
  • Team fee deposit

It’s vitally important that everyone fully understand the policies and commitment requirements of the Far Post Travel Team Program.  This information is contained in the Parent-Player manual.  Returning families are familiar with this document from last year, however, there have been updates.  (To expedite your review, revised sections are indicated with bright green highlights.)

To accept a roster position, simply click on this link, or go to the Far Post website (www.farpostsoccerclub.com), click on Travel Teams in the left hand column, then click on Parent-Player Manual.  Read through the manual, complete the acceptance form and then pay online with PayPal!  It’s that simple!

New Structure for U11s and U12s

This year, the roster size for U11s and U12s will be 14 players per team.  League play (and for the U12’s, the State Cup) will be 8v8, short sided games.  Tryout numbers will dictate whether we have one or two teams in each age group.  If two teams are created for each age group, they will be of equal ability, probably known as “Orange” and “Blue,” and NOT premier or development.  The two teams will have separate, specific rosters but will train together.  Since this is new this year, we are still in the process of determining how this new structure will effect the U12’s participation in State Cup.

Travel Team Fee Updates

The Travel Team Fees will see their first increase in four years.  After very careful consideration, the board has approved the following changes to the Travel Team Fees for 2006-07:

  • U10 Boys & Girls ~ $550 per player; includes uniform kit

  • U11 Boys & Girls ~ $635 per player (does not include uniform)

  • U13 – U15 Boys & Girls Development Teams ~ $635 per player (does not include uniform)

  • U12 – U18 Boys & Girls ‘First’ Teams ~ $660 per player (does not include uniform)

U10s are Special at Far Post

The U10 Program at Far Post introduces young athletes to the travel team experience ~ from regular indoor training during the winter to the outdoor season, complete with opportunities for league and tournament play.  Far Post’s U10 boys and girls receive special mentoring and nurturing from coaches whose primary goal is to foster the love of soccer in young players!  Jamboree weekends provide great match experience and the kids have loads of fun!  And, when the U10 players ask their coach the game score, they usually receive the response 0-0 as the focus is on enjoying soccer!

For more information, visit the U10 Travel Team Program page.  You’ll see that U10s are truly special at Far Post.  If you have or know of an interested U10 aged player (born after 8/1/1996), tryouts for both boys and girls are Sunday, September 10 & 17, from 11 a.m. to noon at Dorset Park in South Burlington.  For further information, contact Todd Kingsbury at todd@farpostsoccerclub.com or 863-8161.
