Ready for Session II
Even
though we’re in the midst of Session I of The Soccer Center’s Futsal and 7v7
leagues, it’s already time to register for Session II! Your team manager should
be contacting you to determine interest for Session II and we strongly recommend
that you respond quickly. The deadline for teams to register is December 18 ~
just around the corner! Game dates are posted on the website ~
www.thesoccercenter.org
~ click on Session II for Futsal or 7v7. Futsal is Far Post’s ‘game of choice’
but teams are welcome and encouraged to add to their soccer experience by
playing in the 7v7 leagues as well!
Two new Futsal leagues have
been added to the program for session II! See the latest issue of The Soccer
Center’s newsletter, “Extra
Time” for more details on the
U8 Coed
and
High School Coed Futsal Leagues!
The
U8 Coed league is a great way for your
youngster to be introduced to
Futsal at
The Soccer Center
and the High School Coed league promises to be a fun time for teen age soccer
players.
For further details contact
Assistant League Manager Wendy Elles, at

Attention Budding Players!
Far Post Soccer Club is excited to offer its exciting
Far Post Juniors program, designed
especially for players aged 4-6. The second session of “Juniors” begins on
Thursday, December 28 in the North Expo building of
The Soccer Center.
Far
Post Juniors
is a fun-packed soccer program for young children! The primary goal of Juniors
is for the participating youngsters to have fun! Our secondary goal is to
introduce the novice players to the world’s most popular team sport, soccer!
Far Post offers three 6-week sessions of Far Post Juniors. Each class lasts one
hour. Typically, the hour includes a variety of fun soccer-related activities
and concludes with 10-15 minutes of small sided games. Limited space is still
available for session II – don’t delay, enroll your favorite youngster today!
The program will be offered on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00
p.m. for 6 weeks.

School
of Excellence II –
1v1 Attacking and Finishing
Far Post’s
Schools of Excellence are indoor programs that run throughout the
fall, winter, and spring. Boys and girls ages 7-14 are welcome to enroll, and
sessions meet for 1 hour per week for six weeks. The program is open to all
soccer players of any ability.
School
of Excellence Session II begins on Thursday, December 28 and will
focus on
“1v1
Attacking and Finishing.”
“Soccer dribbling and attacking defenders in 1v1 situations is probably the most
exciting skill in soccer! This program is geared toward putting players into
1v1 situations that will develop player’s dribbling skill and decision making.
Dribbling is an art so players will experience exercises that will give them
plenty of opportunities to think for themselves and develop that creative
flair,”
says, Education Program Director,
Wendy Elles.
Note: There
are some dates when The Soccer Center is closed due to Champlain Valley
Exposition functions. Please mark the following dates on your calendars for the
Schools of Excellence II: December 28, January 4, 25, February 1, 8, 22.

Volunteer Appreciation
In addition to the coaches, trainers, referees and
administrative staff that keep the Far Post organization operating on a daily
basis, the club is most fortunate to have two groups of dedicated volunteers who
generously give their time and expertise in support of the Far Post
staff.
These are the Far Post
Board of Directors and
Team Managers.
The Far Post Board of Directors sets policy for the club and works
directly with the
Executive Director. Serving on the board are:
