Far Post Soccer Club - April Training Weekend
2012 Dates Confirmed - April 14-15, 2012
Far Post is heading into it's fourth year of running our April Training Weekend. This weekend was conceived at a senior coaching staff meeting about five years ago when staff was trying to come up with a better option for our Far Post players instead of a third tournament. The whole idea was to replace one of our tournaments with an event that would involved the entire club and would be a better development tool for our teams and players. Head Boy's Coach, Ben Hardy, wrote an article in Soccer New England titled, 'Replacing Tournaments with a Better Option.' You can click on the link below to read this article:

This weekend is made up of the following components:
-
Teams live and eat together for the weekend, chaperoned by volunteer parents
-
Teams train on artificial turf fields throughout the weekend
-
Teams play friendly matches to get tuned up for the outdoor season
-
Teams participate in age-appropriate fitness sessions with Poulin Performance
-
Teams participate in team-building and group-problem solving activities with a trained consultant
-
Teams attend 'mental conditioning' sessions with a trained consultant
-
Younger teams are paired up with older teams for a mentoring experience
This is one of the best and most worthwhile weekend of the entire season. Every year we get better and better at providing a more worthwhile experience for the kids. The fees for the April Training Weekend are included in club fees.
The documents below are from last year. We are leaving these up so that you have an idea of what to expect from the weekend. These will be updated as we get closer to the weekend.
