U10 Boys Coach

Reed, a native of Williston, VT, rejoined the Far Post Staff in 2018 after a 12 year hiatus.

Reed joined Far Post at the age of 9, where he played from the 10s through the 18s. Reed played for CVUHS for 4 years, winning two D1 state championships. Reed went on to St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY, where he played four years, co-captaining the program in his senior year. During his time with the program Reed earned Liberty League All-Academic honors three times, the Most Improved Player award 2007, and the Coach’s Award for dedication to the program 2009.

Reed began developing coaching skills as a FPSC camp counselor in high school, then coached and directed the FC Freeze winter training program at SLU. Reed graduated cum laude in 2010 with a combined major in Environmental Studies and Chemistry and a minor in Hispanic Studies.

After graduation, Reed moved to Washington D.C. where he began an IT career, and joined the coaching staff at Happy Feet and Legends Soccer Club in Ashburn, VA in 2012. After one year coaching travel teams and other programs with Happy Feet-Legends, Reed was promoted to Director of Rec Soccer in 2013, and continued to coach travel. Reed continued coaching in the DMV area, moving to Great Falls SC for 2013-2014, and then Vienna SC for 2015-2016. Reed specialized in working with U9-U12 boys and girls programs in that time. In 2014-2016 Reed also worked as an assistant coach for the Paul VI HS men’s soccer team in Fairfax, VA. In 2016 Reed returned to his hometown of Williston, VT to be near his parents and start a family.

Reed holds his USSF E License, and has completed certification through the Positive Coaching Alliance.

In addition to his work with Far Post, Reed is also an accomplished referee working many leagues throughout Chittenden County. Reed is a fan of many teams in the EPL and Spanish Primera and enjoys skiing, karate, ultimate frisbee, hiking, and spending time with his wife and son.
