U12 Program Details

Program Outline

Our U12 Program is for players born in 2014 and 2015 (for the 2025-26 season).

Beginning with the 2026-27 season, US Youth Soccer and US Club soccer are both moving from birth year age groups to age group player formation cycles that run from August 1 to July 31. This change is coming to Vermont in one year from now. Updated Decision on Age Group Formation - US Youth Soccer

For the 2025-2026 season:

  • For U10s, U11s & U12s, we are starting to make the transition to school year groups. We are being flexible with the policy to allow the youngest players affected to transition in a year's time. We will be working on this carefully on a team by team and case by case basis and all decisions will be made by our senior coaching staff along with some dialogue with parents.

  • We recognize that change is hard and we are trying to be thoughtful and responsive to the changes that ARE coming our way.

Overseeing this program is our U12 DOC, Joey Cipicchio, who works with each individual coach to ensure that each team is on the same pathway. Club Director Todd Kingsbury will also be working more closely with this age group this year as we fine tune the curriculum. These years are very formative in a players' development, and players transition to a larger field with more tactical demands.

We continue with a heavy emphasis on improving our players' technical proficiency and ball control and begin to introduce larger tactical themes.
